My name is Becky Jo DoRan, and I am an educator with A+ Charter in Maricopa, AZ. I am originally from Washington State, where I taught 5th-grade gifted education at a project-based school.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them,” Albert Einstein. I have a belief that when we teach students to ask questions, not just answer them; we better prepare them for problem-solving and critical thinking that our world needs to make positive changes in the future.
I have a wide range of interests from art, music, swimming and even surfing. Since I grew up in the Pacific NorthWest, hiking, skiing, and spending time in nature is part of who I am. I believe that the more we know about the world, the more questions we can ask about how we can better the Earth.
I have a BAIS from Western Governors University. I have taken professional certification from Seattle Pacific University, Harvard, University of Washington, and I am currently working on my masters of education. I am a lifetime learner who enjoys learning new and exciting things I can share in the classroom.
